About Just Breathe
Just Breathe offers Tai Chi and Qigong classes and workshops both online and in-person.
Classes are taught step-by-step with detailed instruction and guided repetitions with an emphasis on relaxation, stress reduction, and increasing health, balance, and flexibility.
Modifications are discussed for physical considerations. The goal is to relax, have fun, and increase and maintain health. We do this by using breathing and gentle, energetic movements.
The health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong have been acknowledged by major scientific and medical studies such as Harvard Medical School and Mayo Clinic. The practitioner does not have to be an expert. Almost anyone can learn to practice Qigong and Tai Chi to maintain and improve his or her own health.
John,
The online on-demand Tai Chi and Qigong classes are actual recordings of an entire 15-week online live session. They can be watched at any time, at any pace, and still feel like you are part of a live class! All movements are taught step-by-stem with repetitions and demonstrations.
It is a delight to have you in our weekly online Tai Chi classes. I am so happy to watch your progress and continued refinement. I am also glad that you listen to your body and not cause yourself pain. I am always happy to suggest accommodations and modifications to allow you to practice the movements safely. A Tai Chi movement is only “wrong” if it hurts! If it is not perfect, it is only “not correct” We are all “not correct” to some degree. 🙂
Hi Kris — First, congratulations for getting your on-demand classes online. One question: How are they different from the recordings of your live online sessions that you post for the class each week? Are they de novo instruction, not associated with a particular class? Thanks, John
P.S. I’m enjoying the current class and highly motivated to practice and improve. I find myself somewhat restricted, however, by multi-joint arthritis — shoulder, hip, and knee, all on my left side. I do my best, and find the Tai Chi helpful. Thanks for your guidance and hard work!
