At Just Breathe, we believe that there is a big difference between Tai Chi lessons you get over a recorded video and Tai Chi classes that are recorded live. One of the biggest differences is that you get a new Qigong or Tai Chi lesson every time you log on; you are not simply rewatching the same Qigong or Tai Chi video on YouTube or CD.
Secondly, our online Tai Chi lessons are dynamic, meaning that you get the benefit of watching our practitioner, Kris Brinker, interact with the students. As she makes corrections, you learn more about your own movements and postures. In our Qigong and Tai Chi videos, Kris also answers questions from students — questions you may never have thought to ask, which gives you the opportunity to learn more about the practice.
Taking Tai Chi classes and Qigong classes that have been videotaped with actual students participating is invaluable, but another benefit of this medium is that you can queue up these classes whenever you want and work at your own pace. Teaching Style
Step-by-step detailed instruction with guided repetitions
Online Tai Chi and Qigong classes are taught with an emphasis on relaxation and increasing balance and flexibility. Modifications are discussed for physical considerations. The goal is to relax, have fun, and increase and maintain health. We do this by using breathing and the gentle movements of the form.

Our Qigong and Tai Chi classes are taught by Kris Brinker, a longtime area Tai Chi and Qigong practitioner. Her open and expressive teaching style makes it easy for students to understand and copy the movements we practice in our classes. Kris demonstrates each move while explaining exactly how to replicate it and what students should be thinking while they’re executing the moves. Combining demonstration with explanation helps make for a fuller and richer experience for remote students.
While Tai Chi and Qigong instructors and students are encouraged to wear loose, free-flowing clothing when they practice this form of martial arts, in the Tai Chi on-demand classes, Kris wears a T-shirt and workout pants so that you can clearly see her body movements while she explains what she is doing.
Giving Qigong and Tai Chi lessons is an art, and teaching it over Zoom takes even more skill. Kris helps you focus and retain your concentration, bringing you back on task should your mind wander. Tai Chi classes are only easy if you mindlessly copy the movements without training your brain to work in tandem with your body. The most benefits are gained through focus and concentration.
